Dorset COP and The Great Big Dorset Hedge

Dear All,

I hope you are all well.

I have a  couple of pieces of news that may be of interest to you.

The first is to let you know that tickets are now available for the inaugural Dorset COP. This is to be held at the Corn Exchange in Dorchester on Saturday September 9th and to date there is a very strong line-up of speakers. The conference will have representatives from many of the local environmental groups as well as being open to the public. There is more information here: https://dorsetcop.info/

Alongside some great speakers and panels there will be an exciting range of workshops, assemblies and other activities for attendees. The event has a strong endorsement from Chris Packham and the 2 minute video clip can be seen on the website. A poster is attached.

Secondly, Green Martinstown has had some success with the Great Big Dorset Hedge. A team of us have begun surveying the hedges in Martinstown as part of GBDH and a wider wildlife survey of the parish. We have now completed surveying at Clandon farm. To see why this project is so important to farmers and its relationship to the new Environmental Land Management Scheme and the Sustaianble Farming Incentive that is being rolled out any day now, take a look at the attached video clip that explains the project and features Clandon Farm.

Many thanks and best wishes and hopefully we will see you at the Dorset COP,

Colin
